2008 Product News

  •  The Season’s Treatings Singing Snowmen sing a fun and playful song about all the sweet treats they enjoy during the Christmas season. Lyrics are sung to the “Russian Dance” from a seasonal favorite, The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. While the song plays, the characters bounce up and down.

  • Sheryl Crow sings 10 holiday songs for her “Home for Christmas” CD, recorded exclusively for Hallmark Gold Crown. The CD features an original song Crow wrote called, “There Is a Star That Shines Tonight,” as well as nine other tracks she personally chose to record.

  • Technology adds a touch of holiday magic to many Hallmark gifts including a variety of snow globes that feature motion, light and/or sound; a light-up gingerbread house; musical treat jar.

  • The Happy Tappers collection features a new holiday character every couple of weeks from Oct. 11-Dec. 24. Press the button on one of the four characters and it dances to two holiday songs. Hook the Happy Tappers together, and they each dance to their friends’ songs as well.

  • Rodney Reindeer, a popular, home-grown character from the 1980s and ’90s, returns this year with his friends Rhonda, Randy and Ramona. They are available as plush characters as well as on a Crayola® Color Wonder activity kit, gift ornaments, books, a snow globe, dip spreader and a tin of candies.

  • Hallmark offers a variety of gifts — including DVDs, animated plush characters, books and Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments — based on these favorite holiday movies: Peanuts® A Charlie Brown Christmas, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer® and Shrek the Halls.

  • Hallmark offers more than 300 Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments plus dozens of gift ornaments that can be used as small gifts or stocking stuffers, hung on the tree, or tied on packages for a decorative touch.

  • Dozens of unique candles and candle holders, photo frames, Instant Scrapbooks, and ceramic and glass tabletop and home décor items are featured. • Stores offer a selection of holiday-themed Gift Books From Hallmark for children and adults as well as many everyday selections that make meaningful holiday gifts. New book formats include a photo book, puzzle book, book with a lenticular cover that plays a fully animated two-second scene when you tip the book from side to side, and a book that you can personalize by recording your voice.

  • Hallmark Gold Crown stores offer six designs of everyday gift cards. In addition, many stores also will offer special designs for the holidays. These gift cards can be loaded in any amount from $5 to $500.
