Hallmark Cards With Sound were introduced in January 2006.
In July 2006, the selection expanded to 224 Cards With Sound.
In January 2007, famous movie sound clips and TV theme songs joined the lineup.
In July 2007, Cards With Sound designed to appeal to kids, men and nostalgic jingle fans debuted.
Hallmark has the licensing rights to hundreds of songs, movies, TV shows and commercials. There can be multiple publishers, artists, studios and talent rights involved in producing a single card.

Product Features

  • Hallmark offers more than 500 Cards With Sound.
  • The cards feature clips of original songs by the original artists, as well as dialogue and theme songs from popular movies and TV shows, and clips from memorable TV commercials.
  • Examples of audio clips in cards include “If I Had $1,000,000” by the Barenaked Ladies, “I Like It, I Love It” by Tim McGraw, “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer, “I’m Sorry” by Brenda Lee, “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones, “We’re All in This Together” by the cast of High School Musical, theme song from The Honeymooners, audio clip from The Office, the Monday Night Football theme composed by Johnny Pearson, the Chiquita Banana jingle and many more.
  • Each audio clip plays up to 30 seconds when the card is opened, and stops when the card is closed.
  • The cards cover practically every musical genre from polka to country to rock and roll.
  • The extraordinary sound quality from the card’s internal speaker is designed to be played again and again.
  • Several extra-large sound-producing cards are 12-inch square and offer improved speaker quality.
  • Money and gift-card holders also are part of the line.
  • Hallmark also offers gift bags and gift-card boxes, and gifts such as photo frames and travel mugs with original sound clips.
