Hallmark Counts Down Final Days to Create Funniest Greeting Card

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 19, 2008) — Just a few days remain in the search for America’s funniest card creator. March 23 is the last day for submissions in Hallmark’s “YourFunny*ness” contest, which gives artists, designers, photographers, writers, and others the chance to show their wit.

“For years, Hallmark consumers have approached us with very funny ideas for greeting cards,” said Ingerlene Embry, editorial director at Hallmark. “We want to encourage that passion, so we’re asking people to submit their funniest card idea. Our goal is to provide our fans with the opportunity to be featured on a Hallmark card and the chance to have fun at the same time.”

The theme of the cards submitted for the contest is "just for fun." Basically, the contest is about creating a funny card with the intention of sharing it just to make someone laugh.

Contest entries can be submitted March 3–23, 2008, on Hallmark.com/you, and finalists will be selected and announced on April 14, 2008. The Grand Prize winner will get $1,000 cash and a trip to Chicago to spend a weekend with Second City, including free tickets, a walking tour, and a private workshop. In addition, your concept will be featured on a Hallmark card sold in more than 3,500 participating Hallmark Gold Crown® stores. Anyone interested in learning more before entering can visit Hallmark.com/you.
