Michigan Mom Wins National Hallmark Greeting Card Competition
Winning Father’s Day card is photo of son and husband
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 25, 2009) — Hallmark Cards announces America chose Carrie Moore – a Grand Blanc, Mich., Mom and Human Resources Professional – as the winning card creator in the Father’s Day portion of the company’s national “yourParenthood” card competition. Moore beat out 11 other finalists to be named the grand prize winner.
Hallmark selected Moore as one of 12 finalists in its national yourParenthood card competition in February. Contestants were invited to submit their best kid photos with a message to make a dad smile on his special day. Moore’s design, as well as those of the other 11 finalists, was made into a Hallmark greeting card and sold in the Father’s Day section of more than 10,000 stores nationwide and online at www.hallmark.com/you.
Moore’s card features a photo of her son and husband as they walk hand-in-hand down a path. The inside of the card reads: “Not all superheroes wear capes. Happy Father’s Day!”
The competition is Hallmark’s fifth, but the first featuring kid photos. Consumers submitted photos in November and December. Hallmark creative staff members and two celebrity judges – Author Robert Wilder and Comedian Anita Renfroe – then judged submissions. People began voting online for their favorite Father's Day card May 11. Each card purchased also counted as a vote.
Moore will receive a $2,500.00 cash prize.
